I don't know about you, but the first thing I think of when the weather changes is, "What am I going to wear?!" First place I look for answers is always the most current magazine on the shelves. This time, I turned to the September issue of People Style Watch...
| Hey there, hey... :) |
They featured a handful of ADORable ideas. They focused on easy ways to transition your wardrobe without spending a fortune. I feel like this is always the way to go for a magazine looking to write an edition to market to the masses who obsess over fashion - namely, me! The first trend I came across that I am completely obsessed with is the trend of color - jewel tones to be exact. Deep shades of purples and emerald greens really caught my eye and scream fall to me.

Now the question is how to wear them. My answer is, of course, with everything! I love mixing these tones with neutrals or even putting tones on top of tones. For example, from the picture above, I would wear the purple dress with the hunter green boots (which are kind of cut out of the shot, but they're a short boot with a block heal) and some nude color tights to really make it scream fall - or even winter. For some reason, I feel like fashion throughout the entire fall season should be like a crescendo leading up to the end of the year. In the spring, you start with super bright colors - like the vibrant floral tones. In the summer, you dial the colors down a bit and go for the deeper floral tones, like the bold pinks and bright fuchsias. Then to transition into fall, you go deep - start going for the bold reds and maybe introduce some purples and navy. Then the colors gradually get deeper as the winter months go on. All leading up to New Years, when you really bust out all the glitz and glamour with sequins galore. (LOVE it!)
The final trend that I found in my issue of People Style Watch is a beauty trend: rosy cheeks. I think the trick to mastering this trend is to find the perfect shade of rosy for your skin tone. I like to think that because I have fair skin, it is easy for me to have rosy cheeks, but that's just not the case. A couple weekends ago, the boyfriend and I went to a friend's birthday party where a picture was taken of us - and by golly, I really think I have mastered the rosy cheek now! See for yourself...
