Mixing prints can be a difficult hurtle to tackle. Now that
this has been a trend for a minute (or two), I find myself getting a little
bored with mixing the basics - like stripes and florals. So I figure, why not
try something different? What about mixing the same kind of print and pulling
it together with the colors? My goal was to go for a more advanced print
mixture. I did get a few compliments throughout the day - so I figure that my
work here is done! At least until the next time I try and venture into
print-mixing…

I had my doubts - that is for sure. But I figure that since
it all tied together with the same color scheme, it works. The open dot mixed
with the filled dot is a nice complement to each other. Chambray is my basic in
the middle and the little pendant necklace pulls all the colors together.
I got this necklace last summer from the Lily Pulitzer
pop-up store in the Hamptons. Considering the recent, super sad news about her
passing, I found it apropos to mention the adorable piece. The picture does not
give it justice, but there is a wishbone attached to the heart, which just
about makes it one of the sweetest pieces in my collection. Just adorable. It is actually more fitting than I initially
thought seeing as how Lily was all about her prints. Well Lily, this one (or
two…) is for you. ;)
